Although I don’t advocate being a slave to fashion, it is always interesting to see what trends have migrated from the designer catwalks onto our High Street.
Here is my summary of the women’s fashion trends that you are likely to find in store this Autumn/Winter.
Prints and Patterns:
Animal print still reigns supreme in warm beige, brown and khaki, plus cool black and white zebra prints as well as mixes of red, blue or green with black.
You will find animal print on everything! On coats, jackets, dresses, skirts, shoes, boots and bags
Look at Sosander for inspiration and see the accessory examples below.
Dots – on blouses, skirts and dresses.
Florals are still around this autumn especially in midi / maxi dresses and skirts, although the colours are darker and more muted than the summer.
Checks – big definite checks in jackets, dresses and coats
Other Style trends to be aware of:
Sleeve details – there are balloon sleeves, puff sleeves and sheer tiered sleeves to watch out for.
Leather (or faux leather) skirts, trousers and dresses
Pussy bow blouses
Double Breasted Jackets
Boiler suits – the daytime alternative to a jumpsuit but unless the fabric is really soft avoid if you have a curvy body
Wide leg trousers & jeans – still trying to make a comeback but there are many more options this season so I think this trend might be here to stay!
Boots – lace up flat boots – from smart leather through to DMs + Slouchy boots (circa 1980s!) mid-calf or ankle and either flat or with a heel
Lots of warm autumnal colours – khaki, mustard, terracotta shades + on the cool side a deep pine green and a muted rose pink.
